Riding the burning water
I sliced my hands on mane
hit my heart against her neck
riding redhorse
I think it's feeling,
the buck of up and down,
undertow and release,
like riding a cracked boat.
I grasped the back slapped wave,
touched a man submerged
finger tips arms
death lightened,
got monsters instead buzzing
bearing down bighting
painting the red ribbon free.
