Petra Arts - Georgian Bay Marketplace

After retiring from veterinary medicine and moving to the Georgian Bay area a few years ago, Petra began her “Second Life as an Artist”, and joined the Blue Mountain Foundation of the Arts in Collingwood, Quest Gallery in Midland, and The Art Map of Bruce/Grey/Simcoe.

“Inspired by the serenity of the contemplative landscape, I am a water-media artist who works in watercolour, alcohol ink, India ink, and acrylic. I am equally comfortable with colour, and with bold black and white statements. The interplay of colour and light is what I try to express in my paintings. Preferred subjects are landscapes, florals, and architecture, inspired by the Georgian Bay area, and by my global travels. I feel my work gives people access to a moment of joy, something they recognize intuitively or have experienced. Any one who wears my pieces wears a work of art, and makes a statement about their own willingness to be bold and unique in their expression of their personal style.”
